IV against Pill Sedation for Dental Phobias?

Many dentists are now offering those with dental phobias two types of sedation, the first requires pills, gas or oral injections and the other procedure we associate more with the doctor, IV sedation. There are distinct differences with the two for the first type does cause most of the known dental phobias around and they are usually based on guess work, the dentist determining the best dose to attain ample sedation. This is truly hit and miss for you may get too much and worse not enough sedation that can lead to more stress or anxiety with the procedure.
IV sedation allows controlled, constant administration of the sedative directly through the bloodstream thus is faster acting than pills or other forms of sedation. It is also easier to adjust the dose as needed with almost immediate effects. You being the patient are still in control though for you can choose which form of sedation you may want.
